The Inner Teaching of Jacob's Ladder

            In the darkness and silence of the mother's womb lies the mystery of how The Eternal-Self Existent One created Himself and the Universe out of the 'Amaa (Triple Stages of Darkness). YAHWEH, the All-in-all, permeates the Universe. Before there was a Universe there was only God. The Omniscient One occupied every inch of space. In order to make room for the Universe God contracted. He engraved the Universe in this void.

            Scientists, who espouse the Big Bang theory have detected that the Universe is ever expanding at a rapid pace. Once the rapidly expanding Universe reaches its maximum point of expansion it will begin to contract and collapse in upon itself, under its own gravity. Then it all begins anew. This perpetual cycle of expanding and contracting the Hindus call, “the Breath of Brahma.”

             The six-pointed star symbol is symbolic of the Expansion and the Contraction of the Universe. The upward pointing triangle represents the Expansion. The downward pointing triangle represents the Contraction.

            The six-pointed star (the Shield of David) is a glyph of the macrocosmic and the microcosmic Universe. The “six days” of Creation are not six literal 24-hour periods. Nature never leaps but progresses gradually. The “six days” in which God created something from nothing represent the six directions of three dimensional space: top, bottom, right side, left side, front, and back.
The Head-Center of the Creation of the Universe is at the TempleMount (the Foundation Stone) in Jerusalem (Al Quds). This truth is conveyed in the symbolic account of Jacob setting a stone for a pillow to rest his head on (Genesis 28:11). The place that Jacob designated Beyt-AL (House of AL) has gone by various names at various times in history. In modern times, it is known as al Quds. Of al Quds -the place where the future Temple would stand- Jacob exclaimed, "How awesome is this place!"

            The Human Body and the Earth are one and the same. The Earth is a living organism and, like the human body, possesses spiritual centers, or Chakras. Al Quds is one such Earth Chakra, and is revered by Christians, Muslims, and Jews.

            As Jacob slept, he had the vision of a Ladder propped up on Earth with its top reaching into Heaven. Angels ascended and descended on the Ladder. Christ is the Ladder (John 1:51). Every symbol in the "Old Testament" that points to The Christ in the "New Testament" points to us as well. The three parts of the Ladder (which reflect the Triune nature of The Godhead) represent the Human Being, who consists of Body, Mind, and Spirit. We exist in three realms simultaneously.

            The part of the Ladder resting on the Earth represents the physical body. The part of the Ladder that reaches into Heaven is where the Highest Self resides. The part of the Ladder upon which the Angels are ascending and descending is the Angelic Realm, or the Mind. The Ministering Spirits dispatch communications from the Highest Self, much like the unconscious facilitates communication between the conscious and the subconscious. The Angels descending and ascending represent the dual forces operating within us.

            The Jacob's Ladder Narrative (Genesis 28:10-19) contains two ELS (Equidistant Letter Sequence) codes. One is the "Miqdash" (Temple) code and the other is a "Torah" code. The two codes point at each other (because the "Miqdash code runs in reverse), and both have an ELS skip of 26 (which is the gematria of The Name of Yahweh).

            This particular passage is densely layered with much symbolism. With the Inner Teaching we can begin to comprehend the Holy Scriptures in a way that will benefit us by enlarging and expanding our Consciousness.
